Most people think this is due to a change in another popular encrypted messaging service, WhatsApp. In early January 2021, it was revealed that it would change its terms and service agreement, saying it would start sending personal data to its parent company, Facebook.
It will officially begin on February 8, 2021. Apparently, many WhatsApp users do not like this upcoming change and have gone over the signal.
How Signal Private Messenger App Works?
The application uses its own open source signal protocol to provide end-to-end encrypted communication between signal users. Including iOS, Android, and PC owners for encrypted text, group chat, voice messages, photos, and videos.
The Android version of Signal can also serve as the phone’s SMS or MMS application, although those text messages will not be encrypted. In October 2020, the Signal Foundation announced that it had officially added voice and video calls to its PC and iPad apps.

Also, since the development of the app is being funded by a non-profit corporation, there is no financial incentive to sell any data. There is no advertising and the application can be downloaded and used for free. Also, as it is open source software, anyone can contribute to its development.
