As part of its education portfolio, the Vodafone Idea Foundation created India’s largest multilingual (English plus seven Indian languages) online scholarship search and support platform, www.learningwithvodafoneidea.in, for students and teachers for Rs. 15,000 crore rupees.
Since the portal was launched in August 2017, Vodafone Idea have helped some 36,000 students get scholarships, many of whom received aid for the first time. Through a combination of offline programs and online campaigns, Vodafone Idea reached over 1 million students and reached out to more students.
On our journey to help students fulfill their dreams, they have come across many qualified students and teachers who need immediate help. Despite teachers playing important roles in education, their efforts and participation as true agents of change are not adequately recognized and appreciated, which is why Idea Vodafone Foundation has launched a new free Started a scholarship program called ‘VI Teachers’ and Students’ Scholarship’ in 2020.
With the aim of helping students and facilitating teachers in their efforts to bring real change, Vi recognized 200 teachers and supported 2500 students with this free scholarship in India. Online Scholarship Application for 2021 are open now!
Vodafone Idea Scholarship 2021
For students who are eagerly waiting for a Vodafone scholarship to apply, the Vodafone scholarship has different awards according to different scholarship and eligibility criteria. Below is an overview of the various awards given by the British multinational company given below in table form, students need to check.
The British multinational offers two types of scholarships for students. The the two types of Vodafone scholarships given below.
- Need-based scholarship
- Merit-based scholarship
Need-Based Scholarships: – Need-based scholarships are awarded based on the financial need or background of the student. These scholarships are available to low-income families to ensure that students can continue their education with less financial burden on their families.
Merit-Based Scholarships: – Many government and private organizations offer merit-based scholarships to help students stay financially behind in their education. These scholarships are awarded to encourage students through awards to perform in their studies and to create a positive background for the society.
Eligibility criteria for Vodafone Idea Scholarship 2021
- From low-income public, government-funded or private schools
- 6th grade students and higher
- Recognized academic or additional excellence
- Not receiving VI or any other scholarship in the previous academic year
Allowable expenses
- Text and reference books
- School tuition fees, school related expenses such as school uniform
- Coaching classes, e-learning courses, correspondence courses.
- Educational laptop / tablet
- Fee for participation in School Science Congress, Science Exhibition and other similar programs

Eligibility criteria for VI Teachers’ Scholarship 2021-22
- Full Time Teacher (Head Masters / Head Mistress, can serve as Principal)
- From low-income public, government-funded and private schools
- Teaching any subject
- Teaching Standards Sixth and Higher
- Recognized academic excellence (award, published article)
- Not receiving VI or any other scholarship in the previous academic year.
Allowable Expenses
- Subscription to academic journals, newspapers and reference books
- IT equipment such as laptops, printers, scanners, etc.
- Fees for Advanced Teacher Training Courses in B. Ed Colleges and / or Universities
- Fee for organizing science programs in school
