The OnePlus Nord has finally been announced as the name of the first smartphone launched by the company in India and Europe. The new phone will be the first in the “affordable smartphone product line” that OnePlus will bring this month to improve its market position and reach new users. In a documentary series released Tuesday, OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau revealed that OnePlus Nord will be available in the $ 500 price segment (approximately Rs 37,700). This means that the new OnePlus phone will be significantly cheaper than the OnePlus 8 series, which is currently starting at $ 699 or Rs. 41,999.

“Nord will be our first product under $ 500 in recent years,” Lau said in the first episode of the documentary, stating that it will be available in a total of four different episodes.

The documentary episode took a look at the OnePlus Nord prototype, hinting at a triple rear camera and two selfie cameras.

On Tuesday, OnePlus also released a press release stating that the new products address “comments” from the company’s user community and include its “flagship-level user experience and product standards.” This suggests that OnePlus Nord will have some similarities to OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

The OnePlus Nord will firstly be exclusive in India and Europe. However, the statement released by OnePlus noted that a select few users in the US will have the opportunity to experiment “through a highly limited beta program” after launching the new model.

OnePlus will launch its phone in India July

A recent preview has revealed that OnePlus Nord will debut in India in July. He did not provide further details, although an informant suggested that the phone could be released before July 10. Earlier Tuesday, the company scoffed at the OnePlus Nord’s pre-order details. He accidentally confirmed the name of the new phone through an Instagram post last week and launched a microsite on Amazon India to begin his debut.

Some initial reports have mentioned that OnePlus Nord will come in the form of OnePlus Z. It was originally also called OnePlus 8 Lite.

OnePlus Nord Specification

OnePlus has not yet provided an OnePlus Nord specification. However, the rumours have suggested that the Chinese company’s new model will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC and feature a 6.55-inch Super AMOLED display. The phone is also said to have a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor. Additionally, a recent report indicated a dual selfie camera setup with a 32-megapixel primary sensor on the phone.
